How it started
Today Clark Street has locations in Larchmont, Brentwood and Echo Park in addition to our sister locations Clark Street Diner and Lily’s Bar in Hollywood. Zack lives with his wife and three children in the Silver Lake neighborhood of Los Angeles.
THE FIRST LOCATION AT GRAND CENTRAL MARKET.
How it’s going
Clark Street was founded in 2014 by Zack Hall out of his apartment in West Hollywood. After nearly 20 years of playing music, Zack fell in love with baking and decided to hang up the guitar and start baking bread. He worked in restaurants and bakeries in Los Angeles before taking the summer off to stage at bakeries in the Pacific Northwest and Sweden, his wife’s home. That summer helped to intensify his passion and upon returning Zack began baking bread for some of the city’s top restaurants. In 2014 the first retail location was opened at Grand Central Market in Downtown, LA.
